This 7 day sailing itinerary starting from Lefkas, Greece combines the dramatic west coast of Kefalonia with the best waterfront dining of the Ionian: Assos, Fiskardo and Agia Efimia, then Vathy in Ithaca. Every day has a swimming stop, from white-pebble beaches to quiet coves.
Legs are between 10 and 25 nautical miles, with the longest sails on the first and last days. A good week for friends and families who enjoy a little more sailing and good food.
Distances are approximate. Your skipper adjusts each day to the forecast, so treat this as the ideal plan rather than a fixed schedule.
Check in at our sail2day private pontoon from 18:00 on Saturday, settle into your cabins, and let the base team walk you through the yacht. This is the evening to make sure the galley is well stocked for the week ahead.

Sail south from Vliho with a first swimming stop at Thilia. Lunch in Mikros Gialos, one of the prettiest bays in Lefkas, then settle in for the night on a private pontoon in Sivota Bay. Your private pontoon should be booked in advance.

The longest leg of the week. Sail south from Sivota with a swimming stop at Agiofili Beach, below the towering white cliffs of southern Lefkas, then cross to the west coast of Kefalonia and the pretty village of Assos, with its Venetian castle on the peninsula above the bay.
Skipper’s tip: The west coast can have more swell than the inner sea. Your skipper checks the forecast and leaves early, to arrive in Assos before the afternoon wind builds.
A swimming stop at Myrtos Beach, one of the most photographed beaches in Greece, with white pebbles and turquoise water under the cliffs. Then continue along the coast of Kefalonia to Fiskardo, the most elegant harbour village of the Ionian, with pastel Venetian houses around the water. You spend the night here with long lines to the rocks.
Skipper’s tip: Fiskardo fills up by late afternoon. Aim to arrive early, and your skipper will handle the long lines to the rocks.
A short and easy day along the east coast of Kefalonia, with two swimming stops in clear water on the way. Finish in the fishing village harbour of Agia Efimia, where family tavernas line the waterfront.
Skipper’s tip: This is the shortest leg of the week. Take your time over the swimming stops and arrive in Agia Efimia in the afternoon.
Leave Agia Efimia for a swimming stop at Antisamos Beach in Kefalonia, then cross to Ithaca for another swim at Sarakiniko Beach. Finish the day in Vathy, the island’s capital, whose natural harbour opens up like a fjord.
Skipper’s tip: The channel between Kefalonia and Ithaca can be breezy in the afternoon. Cross in the morning and enjoy the beaches while the wind builds.
Leave Vathy early for the last and longest leg of the week, with a stop at the Papanikolis Cave, the huge sea cave on the coast of Meganisi. Then enjoy a final swim at Jackie’s Beach on Skorpios, before sailing back into the calm waters of Vliho Bay and the sail2day pontoon.
Skipper’s tip: Keep the cave visit for a calm moment when the swell is low, and head back to base before the afternoon breeze builds.
A predictable NW breeze, typically Force 3–5, builds in the afternoon and dies down at night. Plan longer legs for the morning and enjoy the sailing when it fills in.
In Sivota Bay, your private pontoon should be booked in advance. In Fiskardo you moor with long lines to the rocks, so arriving early in the afternoon pays off.
Assos is a small village, so shops are limited on the west coast. Have provisions delivered to the yacht before departure and top up water whenever you can.
