The Vibe: The "St. Tropez" of the Ionian. It is the only village that survived the 1953 earthquake, so the Venetian architecture is stunning and colorful. It is where you go to see and be seen.
For the Sailor: It gets incredibly busy.
Pro Tip: Arrive before 14:00 to get a spot with long lines to the rocks on the north side.

The Vibe: A former fishing village that feels relaxed, welcoming, and spacious. Unlike Fiskardo, it doesn't feel "crowded"—it feels like a proper Greek holiday town with wide promenades and friendly locals.
For the Sailor: The harbor is large with a new quay, making docking much easier for catamarans or less experienced skippers.
Why Go: To visit the caves, rent a scooter to see Myrtos Beach from above, and enjoy excellent, fair-priced seafood.
The Vibe: A large, working port surrounded by lush green mountains. It feels more "commercial" but has a raw, natural beauty. It was the main filming location for Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
For the Sailor: It offers the best shelter in the area. If the weather turns rough, Sami is where you want to be.
Why Go: To ride to the Antisamos Beach or visit the Drogarati Cave. It feels very green and "jungle-like" compared to the rest of the island.
