Standard embarkation begins at 18:00 on Saturday. If your yacht is ready ahead of schedule, our base team will let you know.

At our welcome desk we handle the paperwork, hand over the yacht’s formal documentation, and settle any pending payments such as the security deposit or extras. You’ll also get an inventory list to check off, and our staff will walk you through the yacht’s basic functions and equipment.

The yacht should be back at base by 16:30 the day before your charter ends, with checkout the following morning by 09:00. This gives our team time to refuel, clean and inspect the boat, both on deck and underwater by diver, before the next crew arrives.

We partner with MarketMarina to deliver groceries and drinks straight to your yacht before you step aboard. Order online at least 1 week in advance and specify your boat name and preferred delivery time.

Soft-sided duffel bags rather than hard suitcases, which are difficult to stow aboard. Bring swimwear, high-SPF sunscreen, deck shoes with non-marking soles, and a light windbreaker for the evenings. Baggage storage is available at our base at an extra cost if you arrive with more than you need on board.

Fuel is available at most marinas around the Ionian. Our fuel truck also comes to the base every Friday afternoon to refill yachts returning that day — ask the base manager for details.

Yes, children are welcome on board, provided a few precautions are taken. We can arrange safety netting around the guardrails for extra peace of mind with younger sailors — just let us know in advance, as this is an additional service at extra cost.

Everyday electronics like laptops and phones are fine to bring. High-draw appliances — hairdryers, irons, espresso machines and similar — aren’t compatible with the yacht’s electrical system, so please leave those at home.

No — scuba diving and fishing equipment aren’t permitted on board.

Requirements depend on your nationality and the license you hold. We’ve written a full breakdown, which we’d recommend reading before you book if you’re chartering without a skipper.

Yes, either with one of our professional skippers aboard, or by training with us first. Our Inshore Skipper course is the fastest route to an internationally recognised ISSA license.

A VHF/SRC operator certificate is mandatory for anyone operating the radio on board. If you don’t already hold one, we run a short ISSA-certified course at our base.

Yes. Skipper fees don’t include meals, so guests are expected to cover the skipper’s food and drink, whether you’re eating aboard or ashore. This is standard practice across the Ionian, and our skippers are considerate about it — it rarely causes any friction.

Calm and forgiving compared to the Aegean. Expect a predictable afternoon sea breeze, typically Force 3–5 from the northwest, that builds after midday and dies down again at night — ideal for planning easy morning passages and relaxed afternoon sailing.

The charter season runs April to October. July and August are warmest and busiest, with the most reliable afternoon wind. May, June and September offer quieter anchorages and harbours with similarly good sailing weather.

Our base team and skippers monitor conditions daily and will always suggest a safe alternative — usually a more sheltered bay or harbour — rather than pushing on into weather that isn’t suitable for your crew.

Our base in Vliho Bay is about 45 minutes from Aktio (Preveza) Airport (PVK) by road. We offer private taxi and minibus transfers directly to the pontoon.

Yes, most of the Ionian coastline and open water has good mobile coverage. For charging, a standard 220V socket works whenever you’re plugged into shore power at a marina, and some yachts also have an inverter that supplies 220V while at anchor. Otherwise, USB charging points are available on board.

Mooring costs vary by location, how popular the harbour is, and the size of your yacht. As a rough guide: public harbours typically run €0–30 per night, restaurant pontoons are often free if you’re dining there (though you may pay extra for water or electricity), and private pontoons range from around €50–120 per night depending on the season and boat size. Private marinas can cost more still.
